This year we head to a new venue to celebrate the opening milonga of the 10th anniversary of Summer Tango in Nelson. You will absolutely LOVE this venue with a big dance floor and amazing views over the harbour, delicious food and an audience as well! So dress up and get ready to strut your stuff for another great night of dancing and meeting up with old friends.
Dining from 6pm, dancing from 8pm. Dinner will be a buffet with shared tables with all your tanguero friends and some locals too. The perfect way to meet new people for this great weekend of dancing.
Please let ME know that you are eating with us by 1 Feb, yes that is right FEBRUARY! You won't want to miss this.

Come and try out our huge portable dance floor, built by one of our very own tangueros, Bill, which will be set up right in the middle of the Victorian Queens Gardens under the massive Palm Tree. Rugs will be placed on the grass for you to lounge around on and there are a few picnic tables and chairs scattered around also. Grab a coffee or delicious lunch from Katrina's Suter Cafe, located on the edge of the park across the duck pond! There are plenty of trees to get shade from our hot Nelson sun, but don’t forget to bring lots of water if its hot, wear a hat and slap on some sun screen. If it's raining head to the Trafalgar St Hall on Trafalgar St, opposite Trailways near the bridge.

Dress up fancy tonight and enjoy dancing at the new Masonic Hall. It has arguably the best dance floor in Nelson and has been host to a few of our regular monthly milongas and the famous Christmas Milonga!
Head out to dinner first in Nelson at one of our great cafes or restaurants and then come to the milonga for your dessert! My favourites for dinner are Nicola’s Cantina on Church St (Spanish), Urban on Hardy St (delicious tapas), Ardern on Hardy St (delicious tapas) and The Indian Cafe on Collingwood St. You will probably need to book for all!
Dress up and wear those flash shoes. Nibbles, sweet treats and soft drinks will be available through the evening and you can BYO as well.

For many tangueros this venue is one of their favourites. Nestled under the summit of the Centre of New Zealand, on a sun soaked, tree clad hillside overlooking Nelson city and the harbour, Tasman Bay and sun set drenched distant mountains, this elegant Victorian Italianate house hosts our farewell afternoon milonga. Please bring a plate to share if you think you may be peckish! BYO alcohol or special drink, soft drinks and water provided.

Here’s a map Please park in the road or in the little carpark provided at the bottom of the driveway on the left. There is also a little bush walk up to the house - see if you can find it!
